So, yes, when we were on the west side of the island and it wasnвЂ™t overcast, we all looked for it, too, at sunset. Those who claimed they had seen it usually had half a bottle of rum in their bellies or their heads stuck squarely up their asses. Yeah, day from night, myth from more myth. Most people at the westward bars or walking along the beaches or sipping cocktails on their verandas up on the mountains вЂ“ theyвЂ™d pause and watch, too. Some touristas even produced videos to prove theyвЂ™d seen it. Each evening together, right before sunset, weвЂ™d shut up, swing westward with our drinks in our hands, watch the horizon and wait in hopes of seeing the legendary green flash as the sun disappeared into the ocean.
